(this is) What you can do with 100 Yen

"(this is)What you can do with 100 Yen" is the new generation of making donation. As we have experienced that people always ignore or keep always from charity approaching. Thus, "What you can do with 100 Yen" would set the new trend of contribution by convincing people in order to approach to voluntarily make a donation by themselves. The context of project is emphasizing on African people, who cannot get access to safe water resource. Therefore, they prominently need to have a 'Life Straw', which is the filter purifying bacteria contaminated water to be drinkable. The life straws are contributed and supported by numbers of non-profit organizations distributing to African people in rural area.

"What you can do with 100 Yen" is a combination between the new media design along with artistic purpose. I integrate a Kinect Sensor with TUIOKinect library, which responds to detect gesture motion of an audience. Furthermore, the art style of the work pleasantly inherit from Nung-Ta-Lung, which is the local performance art in Southern part of Thailand. Therefore, I synthesize a new face of interaction design not only engage people attention, but also productively benefits to people.

Relieve Climate - iOS app to save the world

I initiate an iOS application namely Relieve Climate ,which supports mobility management (MM). Mobility Management measures is a pull, a new concept in a developed country is expected to effectively manage the growing amount of private car. The main idea is to give knowledge or publicity information related to travel through the cooperation between various departments. Along with the use of tools or measures to encourage motorists to change their attitudes and behavior on the trip (Voluntary Behavior Change). Relieve Climate responds to impulse daily car users to get involved to public transportation focusing on Bangkok Transit System (BTS) skytrain located in Bangkok Thailand. The application continuously keeps tracking user's trip data presenting in a quantity of saved Carbon Dioxide. After that, visualizes the data to become semi-tangible graphic on the device’s interface. Furthermore, marketing technique is implemented to this MM. As a result , the applicants who cumulatively collect a bunch of  Carbon Dioxide data would be rewarded with a prize from official sponsors collaborating with BTS skytrain. The expect result of the application is demanding  less car use and convinced to take a public transport.

SantaBlock

SantaBlock is a unique physic puzzle game for iOS that assigns the player as a planner to take care of poor Santa Claus who get stuck on pine of block. Because he has to deliver ton of present in the city, he is dropped by his foolish reindeers. Thus, the player(like you) needs to help him to land on top of the house's roof to make the way lead to chimney. In this phrase called alpha version, the game serves the player to touch directly to household furniture eg. cupboard, big stove to destroy each of them. Once the player destroyed each items, Santa Claus would fall down according to physic force law, which mimics to the real elastic and gravity in the real world. Cheese ;)

This artwork is a part of Epicase ~ You can be a Star 2011 competition. I invisibly present that a combination among cartoony face crowd which can be smiling while turn upside showing upset mood. Optical illusion is the top concept of Cheese. People is able to percept another illustration after 1-2 seconds staring. Our visual modality has potential as well as graphic gimmick concept.

Cheese- is the illusional illustrator with non-pattern. This work represents a life concluded with both happy and unhappy. Meanwhile, people spend their daily life, they unavoidably interface with massive emotional obstacles. These consequently knock the life down heavily, nevertheless, this is not the end of the world. They can re-raise then turn up their difficult situation by a little smile. Smile is able to cheerfully change everything:- bias, pessimistic, conflict, antagonism, racism, war and so on. Do you even smile today? :)

Interactive Cylindrical Sound Portal

In this paper, I describe an installation design, which is a combination of new media technology and conservative video synthesizer. The installation is an Activity-Centered Design(ACD), which doesn’t focus on the goals and preferences of users, but focusing on behavior surrouding particular system. The Interactive Cylindrical Sound Portal sets up both sound and graphical interaction between machines and human in a miniature closed-area. The project concept is an experiment design building new media and new experience about sound and graphical interaction to user. To construct this experimental system, I integrate Rutt/Etra composition patch which working with Quartz Composer application producing visual channel. The visual processing is based-on video synthesizer, which discovered in 1972 by Rutt/Etra analog synthesizer machine. In addition, Pure Data Extened patch responses to produce an 8-bits sound.

For the video and audio processing, this project partly uses Rutt/Etra Quartz composer patch to respond to a specific area of visual animation. Naturally, this QC patch works primarily with the web camera input channel, to mimic the original Rutt/Etra video synthesizer, nevertheless, it is not used as such for the Interactive Cylindrical Sound Portal project. In this project, the Rutt/Etra QC patch controls only a graphical line as a result of sound attracted by a condenser microphone. A patch in Pure Data Extended is another tool to manipulate midi sound in the installation area.

The intonation results as a consequence of the participant entering the area of web camera detection. For the amplitude pitch generation, the web camera detects a gesture from the image by calculating functional signal called a “blob”. A blob (alternatively known as a binary large object, basic large object, BLOB, or Blob) is a collection of binary data stored as a single entity in a database management system. Blobs are typically images, audio or other multimedia objects. As a result of Blobs, Pure Data Extended patch evaluates gesturing position, and subsequently announces sound calculated by the pix_blob function. Next, “osc~” and “dac~” function objects respond to make the sound in different amplitude positions. A condenser microphone and loudspeaker co-operate in creating a looped sound channel and graphic channel while the participant keeps moving their body or hand gestures. Once the participants have gone, Blob data return to default value, which is dependent on the brightness of the current environment around the experiment space. The sound which manipulated by the patch performing as attractive 8-bits sound. Thus, the participant who attends to installation area will be attracted with this charming conservative digital sound.
